Summary in one sentence: MotoFinance works offline and your financial data remains on your device, unless you choose to export, share, or enable backup to a folder you select.
1. Who we are
MotoFinance is developed and maintained by PCMC Tecnologia Ltda, a private legal entity based in Brazil. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information from users of the MotoFinance app.
By installing or using MotoFinance, you declare that you have read, understood and agreed to this Policy. If you do not agree with any provision, please do not use the app.
2. Data we do NOT collect
MotoFinance does not collect, store, transmit, or share on its own initiative users' personal or financial data. Specifically, the app:
- Does not require registration, login or account creation
- Does not access the camera, location, contacts, microphone or any device sensor beyond those listed in section 5
- Does not make network calls, HTTP requests, or communicate with PCMC Tecnologia Ltda. servers
- Does not use behavioral analytics tools, tracking or telemetry
- Does not display advertisements of any kind
- Does not share data on its own initiative with third parties, partners, advertisers, or affiliates
- Does not use cookies, advertising identifiers (ADID/IDFA) or any tracking technology
3. Local data storage
All data entered by the user is stored exclusively in the local database on the device, using SQLite. Namely:
- Your name, entered the first time you open the app;
- Your tax identification number — optional. You do not have to provide it and the app works fully without it. It exists so it can appear on the reports you export;
- Your financial entries: amounts, dates, descriptions, notes, expense categories and income sources;
- Your monthly goals and recurring entries;
- Your preferences: theme, language, currency, first day of the week, daily reminder and its time, chosen backup folder;
- A cryptographic hash of your PIN, if you enable passcode lock. The PIN itself is not stored.
This data resides in the phone's internal storage, protected by the Android operating system. It can only be copied outside that storage when the user exports a backup, shares that file, or enables automatic backup to a folder they selected.
The automatic cloud copy of app data that Android performs by default for many apps is disabled in MotoFinance (allowBackup=false in the manifest). The operating system does not send your database to Google Drive.
The limits of PIN and biometric protection: they restrict access through the app's interface, but they do not encrypt the database. Someone with physical access to the device and technical knowledge can reach the data file. Your phone's screen lock, the operating system's own encryption and the physical safekeeping of the device remain the primary defence. Backup files and exported reports are not encrypted either.
Important consequence: uninstalling the app without making a backup will result in the permanent loss of all recorded data. PCMC Tecnologia Ltda does not hold a copy of this data and cannot recover it.
4. Backup and data export
The current version of the app provides backup export; it does not provide backup import or restore. The export process is controlled by the user:
- The backup file is generated locally on the user's device
- The user chooses a destination folder or opens the native share sheet to select a third-party service
- Automatic backup runs only if the user enables it and grants access to a folder they selected
- When the user chooses Google Drive, WhatsApp, email or another service, that provider also handles the file under its own policy
- PCMC Tecnologia Ltda does not have access to any backup file generated by the app
Important: when sharing the backup file with third parties or storing it in cloud services, the user assumes full responsibility for the security and confidentiality of their financial information. We recommend keeping the backup file in a location with restricted access.
5. Permissions used by the app
This is the complete list of user-relevant permissions declared by the app. None of them are used to collect or transmit data. (The manifest also declares an internal, "signature"-level technical permission, created automatically by the base framework for a system event receiver — it is not granted to the user, does not give access to any data, and does not appear in this list because it is neither user-configurable nor shown on the Google Play listing.)
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to display the daily reminder to record entries, the monthly goal reached alert and the backup reminder. Optional — the app works normally without this permission, and you can revoke it at any time in the Android settings.
- Start after reboot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): used solely to reschedule the daily reminder after the device restarts. Without it, the reminder would be lost on every reboot. It does not open the app or run anything in the background beyond that rescheduling.
- Biometrics (USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT): used only if the user enables fingerprint authentication in Settings → Security. Biometric data is processed entirely by the Android operating system and never accessed by the app.
- Vibration (VIBRATE): haptic feedback in the interface.
- Internet access (INTERNET): declared by the base framework the app is built on, and not exercised: MotoFinance makes no network connections. We list it here despite it being unused because it is visible on the app's Google Play page and its presence should raise no doubt.
- Folder access (Storage Access Framework): not a manifest permission, but a one-off authorisation you grant by choosing a specific folder for backups. The app has no access to the rest of the device's storage.
MotoFinance does not request access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, calendar, phone, general storage, exact alarms or network state.
6. One-time purchase and Google Play
MotoFinance will be offered as a paid app through a one-time purchase on Google Play, without a subscription or automatic renewal. In this context:
- Google processes and stores payment data (credit card, banking details, etc.) directly — PCMC Tecnologia Ltda does not have access to this data
- PCMC Tecnologia Ltda does not request or process card, bank-account or financial data in the app
- Use of the Google Play Store is subject to Google's Privacy Policy
7. User responsibility
MotoFinance is a personal financial management support tool. It does not replace the advice of accountants, financial advisors, tax attorneys or any other specialized professional.
The user is solely responsible for:
- Accuracy of entered data: the results and reports generated by the app depend directly on the accuracy and completeness of entries made by the user. Incorrect or incomplete data will produce incorrect results.
- Financial decisions: any decisions made based on information displayed by the app — including decisions about spending, investments, tax filing, service pricing or financial planning — are the sole responsibility of the user.
- Performing backups: since data is stored only on the device, the user is responsible for making regular backups to avoid loss of information in the event of device failure, factory reset, theft or phone replacement.
- Device security: the user is responsible for protecting physical access to the phone where MotoFinance is installed, as well as for properly configuring available security mechanisms (PIN, biometrics, screen lock).
- Appropriate use: the user must use the app in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
8. Limitation of liability
MotoFinance is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. PCMC Tecnologia Ltda is not liable for:
- Data loss resulting from device failure, factory reset, theft, operating system update or failure to perform a backup
- Calculation inaccuracies resulting from data entered incorrectly, incompletely or out of context by the user
- Financial, tax, employment or other decisions of any nature made based on information displayed by the app
- Direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the app
- Temporary interruptions in app functionality due to updates, maintenance or incompatibilities with Android OS versions
- Misuse of the backup file by third parties in the event of inadequate sharing by the user
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PCMC Tecnologia Ltda's total liability to the user shall not exceed the amount effectively paid for the app license.
9. Target audience and minors
MotoFinance is intended exclusively for adult self-employed workers — motorcycle delivery riders, couriers, rideshare drivers and other delivery professionals. The app is not directed at users under 18 years of age.
The app does not collect data from any user, including potential minors. If a legal guardian becomes aware that a minor has used the app, please contact us.
10. Third-party links and services
This policy applies exclusively to the MotoFinance app. Links or references to third-party services (Google Play Store, WhatsApp, Google Drive, etc.) are subject to those services' respective privacy policies, for which PCMC Tecnologia Ltda is not responsible.
11. Changes to this Policy
PCMC Tecnologia Ltda may update this Privacy Policy at any time. In the event of significant changes, users will be notified via an in-app notice or on the app's Play Store listing.
The date of the last update is indicated at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new version.
12. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, in particular the General Data Protection Law (LGPD — Law No. 13,709/2018) and the Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078/1990).
For the resolution of any disputes, the court of the user's place of residence is elected, as permitted by the Consumer Protection Code.
